Sculpture and Circular Economy:

Searching for coherence and constantly concerned by my environmental impact, I carve my sculptures in blocks of marble, granite and alabaster destined to be dumped. I often carve in old tombstones, forgotten stones or "waste'" blocks. Of course, this requires a very specific know-how, as these stones have suffered from time, knocks and frost... but it's an ethical, technical and aesthetic choice. #REUSE-REDUCE-RECYCLE

For the first casting, I chose a beautiful dark brown patina that reveals this tiny sculpture shapes, almost a jewel.
For the second one, I used with prussian blue and turquoise pigments to create a deep blue patina. It creates a highly original and contemporary patina.
Going from a small sculpture to a bronze requires a great amount of patience. For all my bronzes, I make the mould myself, pour the wax and do the chiselling. Chiselling is an important stage because on the stone sculpture, the shadows will define the sculpture, while on the bronze one, the light will be the driver. So I have to work the curves in a completely different way if I'm trying to catch the light or the shadow.
